How to use / FAQ

Enter any pay amount, pick the period it's quoted in, and every other period updates instantly — hourly, daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly, and annual side by side. The hours-per-week and paid-weeks-per-year fields let the conversion match your real schedule instead of assuming a standard full-time job.

How is an hourly rate converted to an annual salary?

Hourly rate × hours per week × paid weeks per year. At the common full-time defaults (40 hours, 52 weeks) that's the well-known 2,080-hour year — $25/hour becomes $52,000. Change either field and the math follows your actual schedule.

What's the difference between biweekly and semi-monthly pay?

Biweekly means every two weeks — 26 paychecks a year, and two months a year contain three of them. Semi-monthly means twice a month — 24 paychecks. This tool shows the biweekly amount (annual ÷ 26); a semi-monthly paycheck is slightly larger (annual ÷ 24).

Are these amounts before or after tax?

Before tax — gross pay. Income tax, social contributions, and other deductions vary by country, state, and personal situation, so an accurate take-home figure needs a dedicated local tax calculator. Every number here is the amount your employer pays, not the amount that lands in your account.

How do I account for unpaid vacation or gaps between contracts?

Lower the paid weeks per year. A freelancer who bills 48 weeks and takes 4 unpaid weeks off should convert with 48 — the annual figure then reflects real earnings, and the equivalent monthly amount spreads those earnings across all 12 months.

What does the daily amount assume?

A 5-day workweek — one day is a fifth of a week's pay, whatever your hours per week. If you work a compressed 4-day schedule, your true day rate is your weekly amount divided by 4.

Is my salary information uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion is simple arithmetic that runs entirely in your browser — nothing you type is sent to a server or stored.
